Am looking for a specific horror movie from only small detail?

Asked by Ame_Evil (3051points) September 9th, 2009

When I was younger I had watched this scary horror movie that was set in either an institution of some kind – e.g. a hospital or orphanage. The reason I think this is because I seem to recall loads of beds. I believe it was set in a hospital and that the ghosts were those of people who had died in the hospital. I also think the protagonist was a child.

I cannot remember much else of it except that the movie was definitely released before 2004 (probably earlier 2001). Any help will be greatful as I have been looking for what this movie was for ages. We had it recorded on video I believe, but must have misplaced it or rerecorded.

So far I’ve only come up with House of Voices and that was 2005.

Yeah I found that too but don’t think it is the movie. I think the ghosts had injuries that related to their cause of death if that helps.

13 Ghosts in 2001?
Session 9?

Definitely neither of them. I remember long rows with many beds in it.

Do you know if it was a made-for-tv movie or a theatrical release?

Name one of the actors or cite a single line from the movie. Any other details you can come up with. I’m really good at this type of thing.

@augustlan Not a clue, but I saw it on the television when I was younger.

@Piper_Brianmind Sorry i can’t think of any line or any of the actors as I was too young when I saw it :(.

house on haunted hill? it was in a psych ward, not sure if the protagonist was a child though.

Thirteen ghosts isn’t in a hospital, so that’s probably out.

Silent hill has a young girl in a lead role, part of it is in a hospital and orphanage.

are this all the details you have? any specific scenes what so ever will really narrow it down, I used to love horror flicks, but hospitals, psych wards, and orphanages are really three of the most common horror settings.

Was it foreign? Was the movie really that good? haha

Was it The Frighteners ?

‘Cause that had a pretty protracted sanitarium scene, though not a kid I don’t think?

@aphilotus Michael J. Fox looked like a kid, though. Loved The Frighteners.

@ABoyNamedBoobs03 None of those sadly as I have watched them all :D.

The movie wasn’t foreign, I’m sure it was in English. Also it was set majorly in the hospital (or orphanage). I can’t really remember any scenes as it was years and years ago.

Also it wasn’t a comedy, or cheesy movie. And I think the main premise for the whole movie was that the ghosts were the deceased people of those that had died in the place in question, which makes it most likely to be a hospital.

I shall never find it :(

I thought of Stephen King’s miniseries “Kingdom” but I saw the Swedish version 2 years before the American release. I watched the original in 2004. So, sorry. Never mind.

The only thing I could think of was The Sleepers

Not ghosts, but pretty scary. And in an institution.
