If I were to “translate”, would this be what you’re trying to say?

What does Lonsdale mean?
I could not find this in any dictionary. Plus the result of my deduction is incorrect. I think that it means the value of something somebody owns (alt derivation: the value of someone who owns something). What does Lonsdale mean? Where did it come from?

@Saturated_Brain or ”valley of someone who owns something” (“dale” does mean “valley”)

Lonsdale is a British place name (@pathfinder, you’re in Britain, aren’t you?) and hence the name of a noble family. It comes, as far as I can tell, from the valley of the River Lune. So, presumably it would have been “Lune’s dale” at some point, and corrupted into Lonsdale.

That’s my best guess.

And you might be thinking of the clothing brand that is often associated with Neo-Nazism. This is because one time, someone removed the “lo” and “le” from his sweater and added a “p” to form NSDAP.
