Anyone on a lamictal buspar combo for G.A.D?

Asked by hawky454 (3points) September 13th, 2009

Has anyone had any success taking buspar and/or lamictal for General Anxiety Disorder? My Dr. put me on this combination about 3 weeks ago. I honestly don’t know if it’s helping any. Feedback please. Thanks.

What is your Lamictal dose? I am taking other med in conjuntion (not Buspar) but I will say it took a few weeks for the Lamictal to kick in and we had to up my dose a couple of times. According to my psychiatrist, up to 400mg is considered in the normal range.

I’ve not taken lamictol with Buspar, but I have taken Elavil and Buspar. I took a little while to kick in, and I was a surly puppy in the morning til about 9:30 if I took them at 7:30.

Anxiety meds often need to be adjusted (especially in the beginning), and any adjustment takes several weeks to fully kick in. If you’re not feeling any relief, I’d call the doc and let him/her know.
