What are your favorite food and cooking blogs?

Asked by rabbitheart (785points) September 20th, 2009

I have been brewing some ideas for a blog in my head for quite some time now, and food is one of the categories I would like to cover. I do read a few food blogs on a regular basis, but would love to add more blogs to my daily skimming. I prefer blogs to recipe websites because they feel more personal. I’m not picky in terms of cuisine, but I have a soft spot for Japanese food and extremely well presented plates.

Some of my favorites include Luxirare and Just Hungry. What are yours?

Seriouseats.com

There is also a comments section frequented by many regulars who also present links to their own blogs.

I also drop in on Michael Ruhlman’s blog from time to time as well as Mark Bittman who also writes for the Times. But Serious eats is my regular one as it always leads me to many others.

some of the best crockpot recipes out there. I learned how to make yogurt and roasted garlic in the crockpot from this lady, but she has a TON of other recipes.

some great Parisian-style recipes. A newly added one to my Vienna list, this guy has a no-ice cream maker ice cream. (Did you follow that?)

Some great vegan recipes. Mostly not “weird” things. Good recipes, good ideas.

Not always with the recipes, but lots of great kitchen ideas, from pictures and dishes, to recipes and product reviews. Part of the Apartment Therapy family.

That should get you started!

I have several blog contacts who live in various parts of the world, and they often share ideas and tips from their local cuisine. I love that.
