Does anyone know of any good ps2 games I could try? (See details please!)

I love the scary games like Silent Hill! I have all of them. And Haunting Ground. I’ve tried the Resident Evil games. I would love it if anyone knows of any other psX or ps2 games that are in the scary category. I have also tried Siren, Echo Night Beyond and Alone in the Dark. I also like games like Final Fantasy, Baldur’s Gate, and Champions of Norrath.

The Fatal Frame series sounds right up your alley. I’ll let someone more experienced with RPG’s handle that area.

Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 seems to be a hybrid of “Champions” and “Fantasy”, but if you can’t stomach the Disney stuff then it might not be for you. It’s a total blast, gameplay-wise.

The X-Files: Resist or Serve scared the hell out of me, but wasn’t as well done as I had hoped for. C-

Devil May Cry is a wonderful series of 3 games, 2 on the PS2 and one on the current gen consoles.

Then there’s-
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga (Maybe even Persona 3) are amazing RPGS with a dark theme- though I will warn you; these games are fucking brutal.

(Devil May Cry 2 does not exist, don’t even mention it. Ever.)

Manhunt is scary in the fact that its you against dozens of thugs, and you can only use weapons you find laying around or that you take from your enemies. You can’t go toe-to-toe with them, because they will overwhelm you and beat you to death, but the satisfaction of sneaking up on them and snapping some thug’s neck is a lot of fun. There is a scare factor because you will feel your pulse race when you are discovered and being chased down.

That said, it is a brutal game with plenty of swearing and quite graphic, blood-wise. I liked the first one best, the second one pales by comparison.

Oh boy—I forgot about Manhunt. @evelyns_pet_zebra is dead-on. You gotta play it if you can handle the extreme bloody violence. That game made me want to take a shower!

Thank you all for your responses! I have been looking for the Fatal Frame series. I may give Kingdom Hearts a look-see! I’ve never paid attention to Devil May Cry, but I will now. I already have Final Fantasy X & X2, and you’re right, they are the greatest games! I will have to look at these Manhunt games too!
