Align to vertical and horizontal center of stage in flash CS4?

Asked by goose756 (655points) October 10th, 2009

I just got Flash CS4 and I’m trying to center a text box to the vertical and horizontal center of the stage. This worked just fine in CS3 but not so much here.

When I try to align it to the horizontal center of the stage, it instead aligns the horizontal center of the text box to the upper left corner of the stage.

When I try to align it to the vertical center, it instead aligns the vertical center of the text box to the upper left corner of the stage. Why is it doing this?

I don’t have Flash CS4, but maybe there’s an “align to stage” toggle button that needs to be flipped. It’d be on the align panel. Let me know if you see that.

Thats the thing, I have the align panel open and I have To Stage selected when I click vertical or horizontal align… and its doing the same thing.

Did you change the centre point, the little pivot, you know the point in the centre that you can use to rotate around. I wish my English was better, I hope you understand what I mean. If you don’t know what I mean, try making a new textbox and see if that aligns any different.
