Can you use a coffee machine to distill water?

I don’t know why I would want to but I’m just curious if it would work.

No – distillation involves extended boiling and collecting evaporation, neither of which a coffee maker is equipped to do.

Oh. I thought that is how it worked. I didn’t know there was a tube.
