Why are schools switching from Blackboard to Scholar?

What are the differences between Blackboard and Scholar? Why are some schools making the switch? And which do you prefer personally?

I have no idea what a scholar board would be. im assuming it is one of those white boards that uses permanent marker.

So using a little twisted logic, we know that things that are heavy tend to be expensive, and having installed blackboards in a school i can tell you they are quite heavy. so my guess is they cost less to make or replace or something to do with expense.

On a side note, it could be because of those crazy people in the british government that decided the term ’‘blackboard’’ was racist and tried to have it changed to chalkboard.
