How do I get music files from a data cd/CD-R into my Itunes?

I've tried dragging the files onto my desktop and adding the files to Itunes from there and that hasn't worked.

If you are using a PC, you can rip the music to a folder on your computer. Then in iTunes, File > Add Folder to Library.

Since it is a data cd/DVD iTunes won’t let you import the music or videos so go to computer, right click it and click copy and then paste it to your desktop and that should work…if it doesn’t I would try to call apple.
