Is there an ankle brace on the market that is similar to the Homedics TheraP magnetic brace?

Asked by avvooooooo (8880points) November 3rd, 2009 from IM

I have been using the Homedics TheraP magnetic brace for years and years, but they appear to have stopped making the plain one without the hot/cold option. Its the best thing I’ve ever used becasue it provides just the right level of support and fits inside most every shoe (I don’t know if the magnents help or not). Is there anything like this out there? Or is there somewhere that’s still selling them? I’ve worn my last one almost to death and the velcro will hardly stick any more. :-(

I use Thermacare heat wraps when I get shoulder pain from working out. They are disposable, don’t cost too much, and last about 8 hours at a time.

I think they have ankle ones.

Yeah, I have the Icy Hot Roll on right now, but its the brace that I’m concerned about. :)

There are quite a few on amazon. I’m not sure what the Homedics one looked like. I tried eBay, but no one has one up right now.

@avvooooooo what I would do is do a permanent search in eBay for the brace and buy one of the velcro wrap ones for now. Ebay will send you an email whenever a brace is available to buy/bid on.

@SpatzieLover It looks similar to this one (the hot/cold one) except that its more “wrap-like” and the ends are rounded.

I’ve got lots of braces (from full-on boots to complicated braces to simple elasticized thingies) that I can wear until I find something, this is just the best one. And I want to get another. Or 5 more. :(

That’ll be $20 for my search service for you ;) Teehee!

@SpatzieLover Sorry, try again. That’s the hot/cold one. Its a design change from the other one to incorporate the hot/cold pack.

$20? Two words. Tea party. ;D

@avvooooooo So sorry that’s the one they make in place of he one you have. Ebay it is then.
