I want to open a file from a path stored in a record in access 2007?

Asked by manuel_alarcon (299points) November 5th, 2009

I have a database where i store a relative path to a .jpg file. I’ve been looking several tutorials and i’ve managed to show the right picture in a form. Ok! :D but the thing is, now i wnat to click on it and open it. I’ve been trying the shellopen command but i cant seem to get the right sintax… i think it would be something like:

shellopen (relative path parameter).....this and that.

any pointing in the right direction will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

What about something like this or have you figured this out already? Do you have visual basic? I found that working with visual basic as a front end was far easier than trying to use the forms built into access itself.
