Would you like it if Fluther had a "cemetery" of questions that were modded off?

Asked by jca (36062points) November 5th, 2009

i just spent about 10 minutes looking for a question that i know was asked about 2 days ago, and i cannot find it. i was thinking it would be nice if fluther had a place where you could see questions that have been modded off, so you would know for sure that the question is definitely not accessible.

it also might be interesting to be able to view modded off questions, to see what the mods have been eliminating (and what kind of things people mistakenly think would be good question candidates).

I’d like easier access to content I authored that was mod’d off along with the reason.

I don’t need to see anyone else’s mod-removed material. It was pulled for a reason… and often (not always), that reason is taken personally by the author to the point it’s just embarrassing to watch.

Well, some questions violate the terms in the title… That’d be kind of hard without rewriting them – and then defeating the purpose. I agree with Rob though, I’d like access to my removed content, for reference, posterity. Whatever. :P

It might also add an unnecessary level of access that would lead to members bitching and using examples against the mods in error. I think leaving it a mystery is best.

P.S. The mods, as a common practice, bend over backwards to explain their actions and motives. So no complaints from me. My preference would be to automate that portion of the site just slightly more, is all.

[mod says] If there is something you’ve written that’s been modded off, we can still access it. Let us know if there’s a post you’d like to have, and we can copy and paste it to a PM for you.

Can we vote for questions to be in this cemetery?

jca's avatar

@augustlan : no it was not something i wrote. it was something someone else wrote and i can’t find it now, and i did not check “follow this question.” i wanted to read the answers to the question. the question was something about the election winners having a lot of republicans and it was (obviously) after Election Day. i searched words and i looked at the questions for the last few days and i cannot find it. that’s why i was thinking at least if there were a place to see what’s been modded off, i’d know it’s definitely gone, as opposed to i just did not look hard enough.

Sure! That way we can know what kinds of questions aren’t good to ask on here.

No, I don’t see any point in digging through the garbarge just in case I’m missing something.

Only as a source of laughter.

I think it would be a good idea. Just like what @troubleinharlem said.

Great idea, special password required-you are now entering the inter sanctum of the Fluther Zone.

if you are outer limits, they are pretty good at putting you there at least from my experience
