Why are the release dates on itunes wrong most of the time

Asked by pattyb (794points) February 9th, 2008 from iPhone

J. Browne “Running on empty” released 1988???? I don’t think so. His whole discography is wrong according to itunes. At least the ones coming thru the iPhone- iTunes store.

They mark those according to when the CD was released. I always QC my tags in a quarantine playlist when adding to my library.
