How do I install Mac Osx on Acer Aspire one without a external cd/dvd drive?

Asked by flip193 (208points) November 9th, 2009

I just installed Mac OSx on my desktop computer but that has a cd/dvd drive obviously. But how can I get mac os x on myacer if it does not have a cd drive. I can not buy an external one or a usb for that matter. Can I use like the desktop computer as an external cd drive?

If both computers have firewire you could try FireWire target disk mode. I really doubt that would even work. You are probably screwed. Well, not screwed. You are probably using a copy you downloaded and are violating the EULA.

You can get a external drive for 30 bucks.

Here’s a how-to, but it probably isn’t worth the effort.

I would get an external drive, even a cheap one. It will undoubtedly help in this situation, not to mention if you don’t have a CD drive it will probably come in handy in the future as well.
