What is your most unusual day?

Asked by KatawaGrey (21483points) November 10th, 2009

Have you had an exceptionally unusual, interesting, fun, wild, etc. day? Would you like to share with the collective?

I find that we have a number of interesting people on fluther who I imagine have had some equally interesting days and I would love to hear about them. Is your interesting day actually a weekend? A week? Even a month?

I’d say my most unusual day was one day I spent in England with my good friend. We went to a party at his friend’s house where everyone had to dress up as either a hero or a villain. We ended up staying the whole night and I didn’t sleep. Instead of it being a very wild party, however, we all crashed sometime around midnight. Those of us who stayed up spent the rest of the morning telling bad jokes and throwing peanuts at each other (and some spent it sobering up, naturally). It was an excellent time but quite a surreal one.

I slept less than 75 hours in all of October ‘08. Every day of it was surreal. Sometimes I see pictures from that time and it’s like I was abducted by aliens or something.

I was on the phone with a girl I’d just met – all night long – literally; we talked for about 10 hours straight – only stopping for bathroom breaks and to pour myself some scotch.

When I was in college, some friends and I were visiting Strasbourg for the weekend. Our train for Paris left at 4:00 in the morning on Monday, and the youth hostel would not let us check out that early. We decided that it would be a better idea to wander around the strange city until the train left and sleep on the train. However, (being American) we forgot that France basically closes on Sundays, so we spent the day walking through the rain with all our bags. We found a bar, but they asked us to leave at 8, and then the three of us crammed into a phone booth to call the states. An SDF invited us to share a bottle of wine, and then a graduate assistant from Bosnia took us to a private club on a boat in the canal where everyone was dressed like pirates. We got on the train at 4 thanking God that we hadn’t got into any major trouble, and then at the next stop, a large group of over-excited middle-aged women all got on. They talked the whole way to Paris, so we didn’t sleep after all.

A cat infected with rabbies bite me and it had a lock jaw, as result I had to decapite it and was rushed to hospital with cat’s head loged on my hand.

most my days are pretty unusual as I work with kids. There was a pretty good one last year when I was doing a course in the same office that a politician worked in, and a crazy old hobo buzzed the intercom and spent the next half an hour ranting into it about various conspiracies, sandwiches, and seeing Osama Bin Laden shopping for food.. crazy people brighten up my day sometimes. I just hope Jack Straw answered his intercom, and not his poor assistant. Sadly most my unusual days occur when I have been drinking, and therefore I don’t remember them.
