Is anyone else participating in Movember to cure prostate cancer?

Asked by drClaw (4452points) November 12th, 2009

So this is part interest and part asking for a handout. If you don’t know what it is here is a quote from their site…

“Movember is the month formerly known as November where men start clean shaven and commit to growing a Moustache. That’s right, we are bringing back the Moustache this November to raise funds and awareness for men’s cancers – specifically prostate and testicular cancer. If you would like to join a global movement changing the face of men’s health sign up for or donate to Movember 2009”

I’m just curious if anyone else on fluther is doing this? If so how’s the stache coming? I’d love to see some pictures of other Mo Bros & Sistas!

Here are some pics: picture 1 & picture 2 (btw I box, hence the black eyes. So don’t worry my wife isn’t beating me)

If you would like to get involved go here: us.movember.com

Or donate here: Link

Anyone know any instructions on how to grow a particular kind of mustache, like the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle? (do a Google Image search to see what I mean)

I’ve done the “Hulk Hogan” and the “Ra’s Al Ghul,” but I think it’s time for something new.

Yes, I am, actually.

I’m also trying to recruit Tim, so everyone PM him telling him to grow a moustache.

@Foolaholic @andrew Awsome, glad I’m not the only one!

@MrItty It’s raising money for research, the mustache thing is for publicity as well as a showing of solidarity.

@drdoombot I think you’re going to need to get some mustache wax for that!

I wish you had told me earlier, If I want a mustache like that I should have stopped shaving last winter! I’ll start to work on one for next year.

Even if I could grow a mustache, I don’t think I would. It’s too weird. The SAE pledges at Berkeley have to grow a mustache. They can shave everything else except for the mustache. They all look so awkward…haha

Unfortunately, I cannot grow hair.
