So if you bought Modern Warfare 2 has it lived up to your expectations? Also do you think the cert was enough to keep parents from buying it for their kids?

It has mine and I’ve only been online for 2hrs, a mate came around tonight and we easily had enough to occupy us on the spec ops mode, what with racing and co-op missions!
Although it is very violent is has a disclaimer at the head of the game which allows you to skip the most disturbing (yet paramount to the plot) scene.
I also think that although it has been rated 18 minors over the age of 15 should see this as at 16 they can join the army.

How is this game amazing? Let me count the ways:
Maps discourage Zeus grenades.
Guns are awesome.
Huge amount of customizeability, most notably in the killstreaks, which are fantastic (Chopper Gunner = holy shit; I earned it 7 times in as many games, and probably got a total of 50 kills from it! And I can’t wait to get the fuckin’ nuke)
I’ve only had it for 2 days, so the list is nowhere near complete, but let it be said that
MW2 = win.

@Jayne Isn’t it just!

ill wait till it costs less than 20 quid and then maybe i will buy it

Mat74UK's avatar

@ragingloli you’ll be waiting a long long while COD4 isn’t even less than that yet!

ragingloli's avatar

I can wait.
also from the screenshots I have seen, I must say I am not impressed.

@ragingloli you will be! It’s not just the online or the game itself it the sub/minigames too!

It must be good. Usually my hubby gets mad at me for being on fluther after he gets home. Tonight he said, “if you want to play on the computer I will play my new video game for a while.”
I haven’t heard much out of him since. (and he’s 59 years old!)

Mat74UK's avatar

@Judi thats it! My wife went out tonight and is planning on going out tmw night too!

Since COD4 was quite a disappointment, I don’t know if I’ll get this one. I might download it from alternative source and see if it’s any better first.

Mat74UK's avatar

@oratio I’m not talking PC!
Pc’s are for surfing the net not playing games!

@oratio
So you’ll be Piratio?

Also, I have to agree with you somewhat on cod4. While the athmosphere and plot was quite gripping, the rest of the game was mediocre at best. Crysis was much better in that regard.

@Mat74UK
Beside some Console exclusives (the only consoles I own are an SNES and a PS2), I only play on the PC. Especially First Person Shooters simply don’t belong on a console. Aiming with a gamepad is pure horror. If PCSX2 would work fast enough, I would play those PS2 exlcusives on my PC as well.
