why oh why do people think we need antibiotics for everything?!

A lot of them do, and there are new ones all the time. Go see a doctor – he/she will know which ones to prescribe, if that is what you need.

You can’t get an antibiotic anyway unless a doctor prescribes it.

get some sleep and drink lots of fluids…

There should be a separate area on Fluther for medical questions. Better yet, go here: WebMD!

Are there lymph nodes aound chest nipple area? Methinks not so much.

See a doctor, please.

What you need is not an antibiotic, which will only help if you happen to have a bacterial infection, but a diagnosis.

Once the doctor has determined what is causing your body’s immune response (swelling in lymph nodes), then he or she can decide the proper course of treatment, which may or may not involve an antibiotic.

@faye yes there are actually lymph nodes close to the chest area, theyre under your arms, right around where your arm pits are…they’re called axillary lymph nodes.

You might not have an infection. It might be a sign of other serious issues, like cancer. Please listen to us and see a doctor. And yes there are lymph nodes around nipples.

Armpits are not nipple area.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@faye yes I am aware. there are lymph nodes there too. Please observe Level B lymph nodes shown below:

I wish I knew how to link to show a diagram of the lymphatic system. anyway, that’s off topic. you need to find out why you’re having pain.

If I’m not mistaken, your glands swell up when they are healing you.
And when they are done, they recede.
But don’t just take my word for it, do investigate further.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@faye why, is your diagram different from the one I provided?

faye's avatar

The human lymph system has nodes thru the body and down the side of the body. your diagram is perfectly correct and shows that there are no lymph nodes beneath a nipple.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@faye I don’t believe I ever said ‘beneath the nipple’...I said nipple area where level B lymph nodes are…

faye's avatar

Level B nodes are adjacent to the the nipple.

@faye okay what is your point? I mean really what is your point?
