If you had only one day left to live, what would you eat?

Asked by reacting_acid (1181points) November 19th, 2009

I know there are loads of questions about what would you do if you had one day left to live and would you say goodbye to your mother etc etc. Well, I dont really care about those things. I want to know what would be your last meal on earth? Gold covered salmon? Oysters? A crate of Captain Morgans? What would it be?

Also, thanks for not making it “What would you do?” because I would actually spend an hour deciding.

I would go to the rural town of Sheffield in the north of Tasmania to eat at their pub just because it holds so many good memories for me, spent many a weekend up their for rowing regattas and had dinner at the pub either Friday or Saturday night, a tradition going back about 7 years, and I haven’t eaten there in ages cause I stopped rowing so yeah, I’d get a steak at the Sheffield Pub.

I love regattas! They are so much fun! My dad used to row for one.

Morel mushrooms and a seasonal beer made by Bristol Brewing Company called Winter Warlock. Also, my dad’s carrot-fennel soup.

A bloomin’ onion from Outback, salmon with hollandaise, loaded mashed potatoes, asparagus with more hollandaise, the still-beating heart of a virgin, and some sort of mega brownie sundae with hot fudge and cherries.

stuffed artichokes – like a million of them and brisket

I don’t think you want to hear what that would be, coming from a six year-old and all.

I would smoke a pack of ciggies, drink coke and eat cookies n cream ice cream!

Probably nothing… I think my last living day would be too full to want to waste any of it eating. After all, what’s the worst that might happen if I didn’t? I might starve? ;-)

Steak! Cookies, grilled cheese (with REALLY good cheese), and amuse bouche sizes of all my fav foods. :)

Taco Bell, pizza and a number of Central Asian dishes most of you have never tried before.

A massive amount of breakfast food: A bowl of Count Chocula cereal, French Toast, crispy bacon, Eggs Benedict, eggs over-easy, pancakes (duh!), crispy hash browns.
Throughout the day, I’d eat all of my favorite candies: Snickers, Mr. Goodbar, Heath, Reeses and drink Sprite Zero or Rolling Rock.
A little later, some king crab legs and lobster tail. And a Blondie from Ruby Tuesdays for dessert.

Ok, I’m sorry… I’m gonna’ need another day to finish all that!

A chipotle burrito made out of lamb. And a gallon of the monster energy drink to wash it down.

Holy crap, it’s a tough question! I’m realizing what a fatty I am. Also, since it’s my imagination and anything goes, I’m going to say that I’m eating this at a beautiful resort in Mexico next to the Pacific ocean. So there.

Breakfast: A French press full of coffee from Sumatra, with cream and honey, fresh tropical fruit, like passion fruit and pomegranate, one or two mimosas, fresh ceviche—(Ceviche was originally a morning food because the freshly caught fish came in in the early morning, and it wasn’t considered fresh after noon.),— raw clams on ½ shell, with a little tabasco and horseradish and maybe a bloody mary or a few shots of vodka to wash it down.

Lunch: A really great bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, this crazy awesome mango salad I had with shredded mango, cabbage, hot peppers, peanut dressing, and little crunchy things on top, a little bit of white rice, grilled red snapper filled with mango salsa, lemongrass, and cilantro It’s grilled over a fire, right there on the beach, possibly by a shirtless sexy man, grilled duck breast.

Mid-afternoon snack: A few cold beers or Capirinhas, a flavored hookah, some strawberries.

Dinner: Pan seared scallops and a teeny bit of risotto, with a glass of Cakebread chardonnay. Rib-eye steak grilled medium-rare. Two or three glasses of Penfolds Grange cabernet blend. Sauteed Chinese cabbage with garlic and oyster sauce, my granny’s scalloped potatoes that only she knows how to make,
some really nice, crusty bread to mop everything up, and some extra-fancy cheese.

Dessert: Chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce and a teeny spoon, apricot -filled, chocolate covered marzipan pieces (I don’t know where I had these, but they were soo good!), a cappuccino.

I’m pretty sure this is my last day to live because I died of alcohol poisoning.

A Sorcerer’s Stone.

@Haleth – I was thinking that meal could kill you even if it was not your last one, heeheh. But I must admit, some of it sounded pretty damned tasty!

knitfroggy's avatar

A big, fat steakn mashed and baked potatoes and a couple eclairs for breakfast.
A Philly Cheesesteak and cheese fries for lunch.
And some cheese enchiladas with a lot of beans for dinner. makes me hungry just thinking about it!

wildpotato's avatar

@Haleth Thanks, I feel full and I haven’t been able to eat all night! How could I forget about ceviche and marzipan?

I also need to amend my earlier answer with: saffron ice cream, a steamed purple cabbage with freshly ground black pepper and melted butter for dipping, fresh Alaskan king crab legs, also with butter, a turkey BLAT made with one of my buddy’s farm-raised turkeys, some Don Julio 1492 tequila, some Bulleit bourbon, Capt_Bloth’s gingerbread, stollen from Wimberger’s, a spit cake, and a lot of Indian food. Especially lentils and chickpeas and all the other wonderful legumes I’m not allowed to eat anymore. Also, one of the meals of the day would have to be a full-course dinner at a Moroccan restaurant. And finally, a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich with Lays Ruffles stacked in the middle. Yummm.

I’m not sure I’d be too hungry knowing it was my last day on earth but let’s say I was…
-Italian bread and butter.
-Fried dough just like at the fairs and amusement parks.
-Cannolis
-A big juicy medium rare steak
-Garlic mashed potatoes with lots of butter

flameboi's avatar

definitely my fav comfort food, A huge argentinean cut, with mashed potatoes, a bit of salad (no, no salad, that’s a bad idea sorry) and wine, my record is 1200 gr. with 2 bottles of wine (I was feeling low that day), and no salad :D

Well, I’ve been a vegetarian for a little while now so if I was going to die, I would eat my uncle’s salmon dip and my mother’s breaded chicken. Somewhere in there would be a lovely baked yukon gold potato with lotsa cheese and butter. Desert would consist of a multitude of pies. All throughout the day I would be drinking whole milk, egg nog, Cocoa Trios from Seattle’s Best Coffee most delicious hot chocolate on the planet and delicious ice cold water to keep me from throwing it all up.

@avvooooooo: Lurve for using amuse bouche.
