What will max be the human population at any point history, not taking into account the previous ice-age!

Yes, the population increase is receding. I’ve read of guessing and estimations of about 10 billion. Impossible to know, of course, but it seems logical and reasonable.

I think your question is impossible to answer with certainty.

But I watched a movie in high school biology 15 years ago that did a small scale version with rats.

The population grew very fast. Then it peaked when resources ran out. It started to decline. Then it kept on declining and there was plenty of food and water. But for some reason they kept dieing off.

This was repeated multiple times. I was stoned and don’t recall if they said why this happened.

@oratio
I think 10 billion is too much for the earth to sustain.

@johnpwell

I agree with you, nature takes care that no one species is dominant on the planet.
But we are humans, our species count has increased drastically in the last 100 years! Whatever challenge nature has thrown at us, we could get away it with almost zero damage. In Europe/NA its stable. In Asia it is growing! What would happen if it stabilizes in Asia too?

Where would the no. stand?

@tuxuday :: You lost me at, “we could get away it with almost zero damage.” We are smearing our shit on the walls and we will feel the repercussions. Well, maybe we will not but our kids and their kids will.

Fuck it. I just got a double cheeseburger at Burger King for 1$. GoGo gadget pseudo capitalism.

@tuxuday Maybe. Probably not too much as the world looks today. But with climate change and all, there is no way to tell.

Still too many.

I don’t think it ever will be stabilized.

10.5 billion – Widespread education and elimination of poverty will stabilize the number eventually.
