What does your typical weekday night routine consist of?

Asked by SamIAm (8703points) November 24th, 2009

I assume most people work or are in school, or volunteer, or spend their days doing something that interests them (hobbies if you will), but what’s your schedule like after the sun goes down? Do you shower as soon as you get home, or wait until before bed? Do you start dinner as soon as you walk in? Does your night consist of watching certain TV shows or do you spend the night surfing the web? I know I have certain things built into my evenings that complete my day. I am curious to see how other people live…

Well I usually work from 4-whenever I get cut. Then it just depends. Sometimes I come home and do schoolwork, or maybe my boyfriend and I will get food from where I work. Usually we get food from wherever and come home and catch up on our shows.

I’m home most of day so when my fiancĂ© gets home from work we usually leave shortly after to pay bills, grocery shop, eat dinner, etc. After that stuff is taken care of we pick up a movie and head home for some quality couch time. Of course on certain nights we watch our regular tv shows :)

I watch a show or two on Hulu, I troll the internets, I play games for a few hours. Somewhere in there, I make some pasta roni for dinner. At the end, I go to bed.

I have classes going until 8:30 most week-nights. After that, I often meet my SO and make dinner together or have a few beers. If I’m staying home, I’ll curl up with some red wine and music to study, then I go spend some time on the internet or play World of Warcraft. I’m really into some weeknight tv shows, like Bones and Leverage.

shower and get into jammies (I always feel grubby wheni get home from work) dinner, catch up with hubby about whats been happening that day for both of us, then I’ll read/answer email, surf for a while while hubby might be on his playstation for a while, then we’ll watch whichever of our shows is on that night. Favourites include House, Bones, Lie to Me, Supernatural, any of the Stargates, True Blood, recently got to see the second series of Spiral, which was beyond amazing. We waited forever to see the second series after flipping out over the first series. It’s French, with subtitles, and is just about the best thing I’ve seen in ages. Definitely a quality drama, and if anyone hasn’t seen it, do try you’ll love it.

Also been watching a really good Canadian series on BBC2 (we’re up to episode 8 this weekend I think) called Defying Gravity. Our life isn’t an exciting life, but it’s a good one :-) hugs all xx

I don’t have a typical evening! Every week day evening is different for me. I try and make sure I have one evening with no plans at all so I can just leave work and relax but other than that I do a couple of evening shifts as a receptionist (after my normal day job), one evening a week I spend at the stables and every Wednesday evening I have a singing lesson. Saturday evening is usually saved for quality time with my man and Sunday evenings I usually go for tea at my dads house.

i work part time so i can get home anywhere between 3:30–4 some days. then i get on my laptop and play some online games to relax. i then do some house cleaning. after dinner depending on the night ( i host for an online gaming league). watch tv and go to bed. other nights i just watch tv and read. that is what my nights consist of. so i like it. i would not change it. and i get up and do it all over again. lol

I get home from class at around 4pm. Load the dishwasher. If I have homework I do that then I play around on the internet until I very, very likely fall asleep between 4:30–6pm.. Around 7 I’ll eat dinner, and then I talk to my boyfriend from 8pm-2am.

The time after I get home from work and school is usually just a random mix of internet and TV.

On a typical night I get home from work, my wonderful partner is making dinner. We eat together then either go to the gym together or watch something on netflix. I try to get my photo editing done if I have any, go online for a little while, and settle into a book before bed.

I normally get in, put some music on, go through the mail, check my emails, do a bit of tidying, by then the wife has come home, so we have a bit of a chat about our day, discuss what we are going to have for dinner, she’ll usually cook but sometimes I will, occasionally we’ll just snack on various things instead of having a proper meal. I may nip to the shop for a bottle of wine or some beers to go with dinner. After dinner I’ll maybe fluther for a bit (I’m currently doing it while the wife is cooking). Then I might watch a TV show or movie on my PC as me and my wife have very different TV and film tastes. Or I might write some music. I might then run a hot bath and soak for an hour with a book, some music and wine or beer. Then it’s off to bed.

Cook dinner; eat; fluther; clean kitchen; fluther; put dogs to bed; watch dvr shows; read some of 2 or 3 books; shower; sleep.
EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. PATHETIC. Oh, well; at least it’s peaceful and non-stressful. (-;

@Aster: that’s not pathetic! that sounds like a great line up. i wouldn’t mind it!
