Uninstalled Ares but it's not really uninstalled?

Asked by xTheDreamer (897points) November 28th, 2009

When I’ve downloaded Ares, it wasn’t the free program it was the one where you had to register and pay for it. So after when I found that out I went and uninstalled it but afterwords I found out that it didn’t uninstall because it’s still in the Program Files folder.

Thus when I go to Local Disk -> Program Files(x86) ->Ares, the Ares folder with the Ares program is still there but when I go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features it’s not in there so I can’t uninstall it again. When I try to delete the file Ares in the Program Files folder it won’t go, a warning sign just pops up and says: “You need permission to perform this action” [Try Again] [Cancel]. When I click on try again it still won’t go.

So, what’s wrong and how can I remove/delete/uninstall Ares?

I am not a pc person but I know that there are some programs that you need to download an uninstaller to get rid of them. I would go back to the web page where you downloaded the original and see if there is an uninstaller to download.
