What goal(s) are you setting for yourself this upcoming year?

Asked by Haroot (2123points) November 30th, 2009

I know It’s a tad early to be pondering a New Year’s Resolution, but I’m curious.

Personally, I plan to take the upcoming year to more or less grow the Hell up. My high school girlfriend left me a few months ago, my high school friends are getting more and more distant, and my overall interest and hobbies have sort of changed. I see no better time to reinvent myself then now.

Anywho, what about the rest of you?

mmm… I hope next year my financial situation will improve (is not bad now, but it was way better last year)

Oddly enough, my goal is to not have any. I’m going to try and go with the flow next year.

to lose the last stone in weight of the three that I have been working towards
to pass my level three philosophy course on Thought and Experience
to lean into and fall into the comfort of being a great, content mother
to continue to heal my mind and body
to drink less coffee and more green tea
to become a creative artist
to really stop caring more about what other people think of me than I do myself
to stop criticising myself
to stop the chatter
to love myself
to read more and fluther less
to know when enough is enough

I am planning to plan, which for me is a major change:
to determine what things can and should be changed and to look into how to do it

@ccrow Thanks. I feel really uncomfortable with all the change but hey, you can’t make progress without being uncomfortable.

1. Learn how to be more romantic (my wife is always commenting on how I’m a stick in the mud when it comes to romance)
2. To raise my boys right (which is an ongoing goal)
3. Take my blog and writing to the next level
4. finish all of my many projects on the hunny do list
5. Enjoy life

I want to lose weight, I want to take private tango lessons, I want to sell my own designs of toddler shirts, I want to take the GREs and apply to PhD programs…there are a lot of things to do

nebule's avatar

@ccrow yes… :-( I worked out that I probably clock up between 1 and 2 hours a day nipping on and off Fluther here and there…(along with the 30 mins – 1 hour spent once my boy is in bed) which I could be doing delving in and out of books and other more productive stuff… If I allocated 30 minutes to an hour to Fluther per day (only) that would be better than all the nipping on and off

1. Try to make a new friend
2. Aim to be more active in my revision for university
3. And thus do well in my summer exams
4. Try to reach at least the halfway mark to where I want to be at poker ($500. Not much, but its the discipline I am trying to learn and at low stakes).
5. Try not to murder anyone. Especially my annoying house mates who at this very moment are burping on a microphone.
6. Learn a song on piano. I am thinking Fullmoon by Sonata Arctica.
7. Eat more fruit. I have the veg sorted, but never got the hang of fruit.
8. Be more positive/happier. If all of the above happen, maybe I will.
