How can i import an image into Indesign from Photoshop?

I created a layer mask in Photoshop, and when i import it into Indesign there is a white box around the “image” i imported. How can i make it go away or how can i do something similar to layer mask in Indesign. I know hot to use Photoshop, and i love it, but Indesign is newer for me and need help with it. Any other tips?
