Is it possible to send a fax using Skype or by some other way on a computer?

Pretty straightforward question I would say, your expertise is just what I need.

I just found this http://faxzero.com/ I have used a service like this in the past (not sure if it’s the same one) and it worked just fine.

http://efax.com/—it’s pay, but very nice.

Also you can get a virtual incoming number through it.

Another plug for http://faxzero.com/. Sending is free if you let them advertise on the cover sheet, $1.99 US for ad-free.

And another plug for http://efax.com/, too.
I use efax to receive faxes for free, had the account for years, it works great.

I use Skype to send texts and would like to send a personal fax to a friend who does not use a computer and is out of range for mobile phones. I followed the links thanks for those and found a similar NZ-based site but the service seems linked to mobile phone companies and I do not own a mobile phone. Anymore suggestions especially involving Skype would be great.
@pdworkin glad you found something useful for yourself

@kyle94481 ? were you suggesting perhaps that I e-mail him? He does not use a computer

I just went to Skype help because I was intrigued as well but it says at this time it does not support sending or receiving faxes.

That is interesting because if you pay, you can use skype to place a call to someone’s regular mobile or land line phone.

Skype does not have that feature yet. You may want to check out PamFax, the program is free, you can pay via Skype credit per page.

@phdguy What a great suggestion, I’ve just looked and I think PamFax might be just the ticket! Thanks so much for your help. GA everybody :)

http://www.GotFreeFax.com also allows user to send free fax online to the US and Canada. User can either upload a PDF/Word file or enter text to fax. Plus, it does NOT add Ads to user’s fax and is suitable for faxing formal documents.
