Reason for feeling nauseous. Details inside?

Asked by Jude (32198points) December 2nd, 2009

All day today, I’ve been feeling nauseous. I have no other symptoms. I feel as though I’m on the verge of throwing up. There’s no chance that I’m pregnant. And, this nauseous feeling won’t go away. I feel as though I want to make myself sick, so, I’ll feel better.

I wonder what it could be. Any idea?

Are you upset about something?

Jude's avatar

@Facade Hmm, I’ve been a little stressed. That could be it. My stomach feels a little acidic.

Too much coffee, not enough food?

Facade's avatar

@jmah It’s the stress hun. Look up alkaline foods and add those to your diet. I hope you feel better soon

@Facade I will. Thanks, sweetie.

Could also be something you ate, a little stomach virus, disturbed sleep patterns, failing to eat regularly, stomach acid, ulcers, a reaction to medication or over the counter drugs, or numerous other things. If it doesn’t go away after a few days, see your doctor.

This happens to me every now and then with no obvious cause such as flu or eating something that didn’t sit well. I chalk it up to the kinds of things @juwhite1 mentioned. When my stomach is acidic/burning, I first try drinking a bit of milk if I can stomach it, to coat everything. If that doesn’t work, an antacid. (and obviously then avoiding acidic foods for the rest of the day)

I have a terrible stomach and was told to leave the milk alone as it would only curdle and make it [stomach] more acid in trying to digest the curds.

If you’re feeling nauseous that means you are making others sick. I’m betting that you’ve been feeling nauseated. And if it persists I’d go to the doc’s.

Your stomach has too much acid, eat some carbs or pop a Zantac 75, I swear by that shit.

I drink a glass or milk and chew peppermint gum, always makes me feel better.

Or sometimes sip a coke, nothing like a good belch!

I had a glass of milk and did a few Barney (The Simpson’s) Gumble’s (belched) and it settled right down.

Thanks, collective.

Glad you’re feeling better, jmah!

Its a symptom of a serious lack of cookies. Withdrawal. Apply cookies internally. :)

Hope you’re feeling better today!

@faye you called?

Jude's avatar

@toomuchcoffee911 a tall glass of milk did the trick. Thanks!
