Question regarding problem I am having with facebook...

Asked by eLenaLicious (822points) December 5th, 2009

Hey there. I am having somewhat of a difficulty adding my younger brother on facebook. My younger brother blocked me a while ago, but he has my old account. I made a new account and I tried to add him, but it does not work. I typed his name in the search box, and his profile does not show up. My question is how do you unblock someone you have blocked in the past? Is it possible?
Please help me! Thank you

Wait. So.
He blocked you, and you’re trying to add him?
If that’s the case, then he has to unblock you.

You can do this by clicking Remove next to their name from the bottom of the Privacy Settings page. Please note that this will not automatically add them to your friends list. Instead, you will need to search for them and send them a friend request if you wish to become friends.

@rangerr well yeah he did block me. And yes, I know he has to unblock me. My question is how….

If it’s a new account I don’t see how you’re still blocked…

My response explained how. From your brother’s FB account… To get to the privacy settings page, click on “Settings” in the upper right corner, then select “Privacy Settings” from the drop down menu. Scroll down, and there will be a list of blocked users at the bottom of the page. Click on remove next to your name. You’ll be unblocked.

FB can block by email addresses, so any new account with that email address associated with it will be blocked.

@Anonymous_Observer well actually, he blocked my new account. He still has my old one, but I don’t use it ever.
