Can i turn an iPod touch into a tech tool ?

So i scored a free 8gb touch, and i’d love to tinker with it, can i firmware hack it into a techtool ? or maybe a hack tool ? i’m thinking backtrack on a touch, is there anything available for what i’m thinking off ?

Hard to say with the Touch given that Apple is pretty down on third-party software for it.

There are many MP3 players (including the older iPods) that can take Rockbox and do all sorts of stuff. Imagine playing Doom on an old iPod!
