Do you ever start crying just because?

Asked by chelseababyy (7939points) December 11th, 2009

Do you ever get in those moods where something just feels off and you just cry? Maybe I’m just crazy but it happens to me all the time. I just cry and am unsure of why I am even doing it.

I used to. Not sure why I stopped. I haven’t even thought about it in years. I used to cry about my family, my future, or because it was Wednesday.
strange

No I do it a lot it relieves stress. I just did it last night I put on some sad music, lit some candles, buried my face in a pillow and cried for a good 20 minutes. Then I just stopped and put a smile back on my face. Your not crazy it is good for you to cry when you need to.

Sleep deprivation will do that to me. I’ll just get weepy for no reason, and often, I outright start bawling. It’s weird, but it feels kinda nice at the same time, ecxept that my eyes are all dry when I haven’t slept for a while so the tears sting my eyes.

>_>

delirium's avatar

Yeah. It’s cathartic and probably healthy. One you get it out, things feel better, usually.

richardhenry's avatar

Aw. I melted up a bit when I got to “just because”. MAN UP RICHARD.

TexasDude's avatar

I used to, but that was only because I had severe emotional issues.

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

Every time I spill milk. Poor milk.

timtrueman's avatar

@richardhenry Real men cry. For me, it was the first sequence in the new Star Trek movie.

delirium's avatar

Men who admit to crying are hot.

EDIT: I WAS TYPING THAT BEFORE YOU ANSWERED, TIM. GEEZ.

sjmc1989's avatar

@delirium I agree with that but I prefer it if their shoulders and bodies don’t shake as they are cry. That just freaks me out a little.

Clair's avatar

@delirium and @chelseababyy….(Girls, sheesh!)
And LOL @sjmc1989!! That is just wrong.

richardhenry's avatar

@timtrueman My favourite opening scene of all time. It’s such a good film.

shrubbery's avatar

Yeah I do, mostly when I’m really really tired and something just tips me over. Sometimes I get really really scared that something bad is going to happen and freak myself out, but that happens way less often.

richardhenry's avatar

@sjmc1989 Isn’t that a seizure?

delirium's avatar

But then you can hug them and be all “Oh my god you are so adorable”. Men crying is different from a guy completely falling apart. That is unsettling when anyone, no matter the chromosome, does it.

richardhenry's avatar

@delirium You promised you would stop calling me a chromosome.

POLICE's avatar

I cry often and a lot of times….for no apparent reason, then again, my life sucks and ain’t all that….so who knows.

stemnyjones's avatar

Sometimes… but just because something specific didn’t set me off, it’s rarely really “just because”. I either have A LOT of shit bottled up, or I’m super stressed, or I haven’t slept…

sjmc1989's avatar

@richardhenry Maybe that was his problem…hmm

delirium's avatar

@richardhenry You promised to stop liking it so much.

DominicX's avatar

No, I don’t. It would probably freak me out if that happened. I don’t like unexplained things. Especially when it means something is going wrong and I have no idea what is causing it. I do cry sometimes, but I always know why.

scotsbloke's avatar

I find it a great release of pent up emotion. Sometimes a sad song or a certain smell, or even a roving memory will set me off. I think it’s perfectly normal and as long as it doesnt impair your work or driving or something – you should’nt be embarrassed or ashamed of a wee greet (scots for cry) now and then!

Violet's avatar

only when I am PMS-ing

MacBean's avatar

Hello, hormones!

When I cry, it’s not always because of a very specific trigger. It can even happen randomly on a day when nothing has gone wrong and I’m feeling pretty good. But if I think about it, there’s always a reason for it, whether it’s a lack of sleep catching up with me or a bigger issue that I’ve been trying to ignore or whatever.

StupidGirl's avatar

I cry like everyday curling up in my bed deep under my eiderdown while hugging my stuffed baby animals and sucking my pacifier.

nebule's avatar

yes I do and have done a lot recently… I think I’m getting in touch with my feelings more! I’ve cried at my weight watcher meeting this week in front of everyone, in front of my Doctor – GP and then in front of my urologist!! it feels great!

Axemusica's avatar

Sometimes I feel like crying, but tears never ensue. Othertimes when things are overwhelming I cry silently, but it usually when I’m home and alone. Even though I’m afraid people will see I’ve cried in my car, lol.

Christian95's avatar

no never,I always know why I am crying

bunnygrl's avatar

Yes, quite often. I remember once walking round asda with my shopping trolley and a lady walked past me and looked at me oddly. It wasn’t till I saw my reflection I noticed I was crying. This was a while ago though and I was very ill back then, I was having a breakdown. I still take anti depressants and have been coping a bit better but recently I have caught myself having to wipe away tears at my checkout at work. Not for any reason really, I’ll have been chatting away to a customer, or even when i’m not serving but maybe tidying my workspace or something. Also, at home I’ll be washing dishes, or maybe even watching tv, and I’ll start crying. I don’t understand it, I know i’m still struggling every day with physical pain, but I don’t think thats what it is. I hate this time of year too. It just reminds me of everyone I’ve lost and really hurts.
hugs all xx

Well, there was this one time when I was with my mom in a car and I started crying for some reason. I do think I had a reason, but I can’t remember what it was.

aprilsimnel's avatar

I cry, but it’s never just because. I always know why I’m crying.

bunnygrl's avatar

@lynneblundell (((((((((hugs)))))))))) what a sweet thing to say, you’re a lovely person, thank you (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) xx

majorrich's avatar

Sometimes, but I take a lot of medications to control that.

SirGoofy's avatar

@chelseababyy Yes. Everytime single time I hear taps being played.

Justnice's avatar

I cry all the time! You can’t leave me alone for 1 second without me crying. I tend to think about things way too much so I get sad and I cry. Most of the time it’s really for no reason. Somebody help me, I think I need therapy

buster's avatar

I just did a 30 day stretch in jail. I got out yesterday. I had to be the meanest and toughest guy I have ever been everyday for my well being and survival while incarcerated. When I got home I locked myself in the bathroom and cried like a baby. IM not sure why I cried. I usually only cry at funerals. I felt a little better afterwards though.

filmfann's avatar

Yes, I cry at times, and I don’t know why. I have a good life.
But I am full of self-loathing.

MRSHINYSHOES's avatar

Sometimes. The thing that makes me cry most easily is when I watch someone, either real or fictional on t.v. cry over the loss of a loved one, a family member. That really gets me in the heart. But I sometimes cry or tear up for no apparent reason at all——like when I’m all alone and reminiscing. Sigh.

scotsbloke's avatar

@MRSHINYSHOES Yep, that get’s me too, you can always say they are MAKING you cry though! :0)

TominLasVegas's avatar

Yep,I’ve had my moments.I’m a big baby sometimes!

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

No.I always know why I am crying….but not always know why I make others cry.lol!didn’t mean it,you big baby!

Strauss's avatar

@buster that fits in with my only experience in jail. I was in the Navy, and spent a week of a 1-month leave from VietNam in San Francisco City Prison. When I got out, I called home, I couln’t hold back the tears!

On the other hand, I cry for almost every episode of Ghost Whisperer!

philosopher's avatar

I almost always cry for the same reason. Having an Autistic Son is emotional draining. Few people comprehend my life or offer much empathy.
People ask me for help but rarely offer me much help.

nebule's avatar

@philosopher anything I can do to help?

Brenna_o's avatar

Sometimes lately. Usually when I get too stressed or im sick
