Not much. I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. Maybe racism.

peedub's avatar

Rape. The thought of it makes my skin crawl. I can’t even stand to watch it in movies.

poofandmook's avatar

Um.. personally, there’s one rather popular sexual activity that I refuse to take part in. I was forced to do it when I was 15 and it was a horrible experience, and I’ll never do it again. I’m quoting Forgetting Sarah Marshall here: “If God were a city planner, he would not put a playground next to a sewage system!”

wildflower's avatar

Never inflict unnecessary hardship
Never drink on a bad mood
Never stop questioning

Peeing in the shower.

Calling someone stupid or dumb is taboo in my eyes. It just seems so hurtful.

People talking out loud while you are watching a movie at the movie theater .

If you’ve worked in retail, you don’t leave clothing displays a mess when you go shopping

If you’ve worked in the restaurant industry, you leave a generous tip and never stiff the waiter/waitress. You also never come in and order while they are trying to close down.

Beastiality

TLRobinson's avatar

Flirting or screwing a friend or family members spouse or significant other; abuse of children and the elderly. Acceptance of ignorance, and the laziness to not want to gain knowledge. Judging others when your shit stinks too!

HighShaman's avatar

I believe that INCEST, RAPE, and Sex with Children is Taboo….

Also; saying that a question is stupid ... if the person knew the answer ; why would they ask the question ?

Fernspider's avatar

Torturing a child or animal. Torturing anyone actually but it really upsets me when the more innocent and trusting are taken advantage of.

pouncey's avatar

is that a type of plant?

seekingwolf's avatar

I would say…torture (both human and animal) and taking sexual advantage of those who are underage (under 18). The last one is kind of iffy though, because I do know a couple who started dating when they were 14 (girl) and 16 (guy) and then somehow they got into trouble when he turned 18 and she was 16. Just bullcrap if you ask me…esp since they had a history.

I DO have a problem though with…say, someone being 14 and the guy is 33. Yep, I’ve been there done that (I was the minor). It’s hurtful and bad. Don’t do it.

NaturalMineralWater's avatar

Rape, Pedophilia, Murder, Theft, ... let’s face it.. too many things to list… all of which are evidence that those committing them have no integrity whatsoever…

Reptar's avatar

Well said all of you. Seeking wolf, I agree with your statement, I don’t see the wrong with 18 and 16. But 40 and 16 seems a little wrong (even though it’s legal where I live.

Reptar's avatar

@NaturalMineralWater I completely agree, but it’s almost funny that people are only saying the hard core stuff. I think it’s taboo to double dip, or not hold a door for someone if they’re right behind you. By answering with the extreme it almost suggests everything else is fair game. Kind of funny in a way.

Talimze's avatar

I’m fine with any subject, except for ones that portray me in a positive light.

seekingwolf's avatar

@jamielynn2328

Oh god, I hate PDA. It grosses me out. Happens so much on college too.
When someone does it on the sidewalk, I give them a nasty stare and walk farrrrr away around them. It’s gross and inappropriate. It’s called a room. Use it. hahaha.

@NaturalMineralWater

Call me nuts, but I don’t consider murder a taboo. I agree with it’s bad but I’m of the opinion that what makes something bad is the intention behind the action, not just the action itself. If you read Of Mice and Men, you’ll see what I mean. I can think of a couple instances where murder may be okay, or even the preferred thing to do.

That being said, there are some things that I believe can NEVER have a “good” or well-meaning intention, nor can they be done “accidentally”. Like rape.

tinyfaery's avatar

Besides the obvious: no killing, inflicting intentional harm, hurting animals, etc.

Socks with sandals. It’s a never do. Never.

Pandora's avatar

Talking about intimate details of my married life. (Especially sexual details.) I feel its disrespectful to talk about my spouse in that fashion and for him to do so also. Which I am glad he has the same regard for out privacy in that matter.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

I don’t think taboos are a good idea – taboos bring about nothing but inability to discuss a subject and only spurs more people committing whatever it is because it’s ‘such a taboo’ – I do not respect any action done to another whether person or animal without their consent (so that covers rape or child abuse or bestiality).

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

oh! not for nothing but those people involved in Toddlers & Tiaras should be taboo and put away on their own island.end of story.

Ansible1's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir agreed! those people creep me out.

SoulSearcher's avatar

Child molestation, rape, and murder

seekingwolf's avatar

@Reptar

Agreeed. 16 and 40 is wrong…well it’s illegal here. That’s why I think it’s wrong.
I’m 20 and my current bf is around 50. However, I don’t think that’s wrong because we’re both consenting adults over 18.

Reptar's avatar

@seekingwolf So you only think it’s wrong because it’s illegal?

seekingwolf's avatar

@Reptar

Haha, no, sorry if it came out that way…it’s illegal for good reason.

As I said in an answer before, I think it’s wrong to take advantage of someone below the age of consent. I had done to myself when I was a minor and man, it took me a LONG time to get over. There was a lot of shame and guilt involved. I don’t want that to happen to anyone else.

babyblue's avatar

beastiality, need I say more?

Reptar's avatar

@seekingwolf Agreed! Sucks that you went threw that!
@babyblue Spare me the details please!

Silhouette's avatar

@Reptar LOL! Don’t double dip is on my list along with don’t eat boogers.
