What mix of "Relax" plays during the hypnosis scene of Zoolander?

Asked by blastfamy (2174points) December 14th, 2009

During the scene where Ben Stiller is strapped into the electric chair, the disk jockey puts on a mix of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s Relax.

I have been unable to locate which particular mix of the song is played, as it is clearly not the original any attempts at acquiring that song have ended up in what amounts to a wild goose chase. Is the song publicly available? The soundtrack on Amazon doesn’t have it, and the Wikipedia entry for the song, Relax, is rather unclear as well.

It’s not the Powerman 5000 mix?

@gemiwing is right. It’s also on the soundrack AND in the wikipedia page…..

the lockout remix sounds very similar

While the Powerman 5000 remix is on the soundtrack, it is clearly not the right song. The voices are much deeper (redone) on the Pman 5000 mix. The movie uses the original voices from the original song.

@shadowofdeath, the lockout remix is close, but not quite the same feel.

Interesting. I’ll dig around and see what I can find.

Oh, sorry then! It might be something they just mixed up for the film. It’s been known to happen.

yeah the powerman5000 remix has the right beat but the voices are alot deeper.

@blastfamy, i figured it wasnt exact because of the more technoish beat not to mention the one i found was 2009 and that is obviously incorrect, thanks
