Can you please all of the people all of the time?

Asked by Mat74UK (4662points) December 17th, 2009

No matter how hard you try not to, do you always manage offend someone with your questions?
Or do you think about your question that hard that you manage to offend nobody?

No, and I wouldn’t even try.

Generally no. Questions on this site can be framed to offend no one.

I would try my very best to remain unbiased on all my questions and I would check it over to see if it is appropriate for an audience. I mean, I would not want to waste other people’s time with a stupid question, so I always think it through and hope for the best!

Eh, sure. Why not?

If we’re talking about RL, I manage to offend very few people. I take a very diplomatic approach to things most of the time. I’m all about compromise (within reason, of course.) Online, that is a different subject…

You can’t please everyone, if you try you are going to be very unhappy. Just try to make yourself happy and don’t worry about anyone else…

Someone, somewhere, somehow is going to be offended.

No, you can’t please everyone, for in doing so, you will make your own life miserable.

People are all so different, if we suppress how we think, or feel, all the time, then we will be laying in an early grave.

We can all try and make our questions, and answers to others, to not be offensive. But someone, somewhere is always going to take offense to someone, or something.

It’s a no win, situation. (sigh)

Asking a question on fluther isn’t always meant to please, per se. Read any of Matt Browne’s questions? They don’t please – they hurt the brains.

On the other hand, in my profession as a male prostitute – I try my hardest to please everyone all the time.

I manage to offend at least one person with each question somehow.. it isn’t intentional.. but it happens.

no way. you come first. everyone else follows. Your happiness is most important.

mattbrowne's avatar

No, of course not, but we can try to avoid to hurt people’s feelings.

chelseababyy's avatar

No. If you try you’ll stress yourself out, and then you won’t be happy or pleased. It’s not worth the wasted time and effort.

hungryhungryhortence's avatar

No and I doubt anyone here is expecting it that way from each other but like @mattbrowne says, you can try to avoid hurting people’s feelings.

Shemarq's avatar

Nope, and there are some people I would rather not please. LOL!!!

lonelydragon's avatar

No. One person may like what you do, and another may say you’re completely wrong. Also, there are certain people that refuse to be pleased, no matter what you do. You just have to do what you think is right, and not worry about the nitpickers.
