Best way to advertise that we buy broken or working Toyota, Lexus, & Scion cars?

Asked by DARaynor (35points) December 17th, 2009

We just opened a new Lexus, Toyota, and Scion service center. Part of our business plan requires us to buy, fix up, and sell vehicles. We have been trolling Craigslist, eBay, etc. and need to get these to come to us as well as our looking… What suggestions do you have for people who have broken Toyota, Lexus, and Scions to help them by buying their old cars? How do we reach these people? Suggestions are bandit signs (along side of road, small throw-away signs), ads in local papers, and adding that to our flyers and other publications.

there is a place on the other side of the city from me and once a month we get these flyers when we come home from work on the door knob of our house that advertises they buy old and non working vehicles it looks cheap to advertise and it obviously got there name out there because I remember it when some one brought it up its a piece of paper little thicker then printer paper looks home made they used a rubber band through the top to connect it to the door knob simple enough

Auto Trader magazine. You’ve picked a pretty difficult niche to break into though because those particular cars don’t lend themselves to becoming junkers and the customer base is extremely brand loyal; they usually trade up through brand dealerships in order to take advantage of factory incentives, factory financing & lease programs and factory certified/warrantied pre owned cars. Good luck.

Thanks for the opinions, folks. We are getting some good attention via Craigslist, however it is so cluttered and scrolls so quickly. We will try eBay and other local online areas. Thanks again.
