Have you decided to go "Green" and bought reusable cloth bags at your local retail store ?

Asked by Pretty_Lilly (4660points) December 19th, 2009

I have always wondered; once I buy them, how can I keep bring them back into the store and not have some pain in the @$$ cashier think they are brand new and try to charge me again for the bags.

You bet. We have about 6 reusable bags for groceries.

Yes, I use them and love them, and I’ve never been questioned over whether the bags are mine already or new. When I bought them, they had a plastic tie keeping them shut.

Yep, but every time my housemate and I go shopping we forget and have to turn around and come back for them:)

Love the bags. You can use them for other things too. I use mine for taking stuff to work. I just saw one in the store that said “My recyclable bag makes me better than you”, Loved it, but didn’t treat myself since i was christmas shopping.

Yes.Started about six years ago. I keep the bags in the trunk of my car so I don’t forget to bring them to the store. My name is written on each bag in black marker pen, also they don’t look new at this point anyway.

I’ve never had an issue with them trying to charge me for my bags over again. We have quite a few, but my biggest problem is always forgetting to bring them into the store!

I use them and I’ve never been questioned about whether I’d already paid for them or not.

I would, but it makes doing so difficult because we usually buy two weeks worth of groceries at a time from two or more different stores. Unfortunately, it isn’t really feasible for us to carry that many green bags around. However, we DO reuse most of the paper and plastic bags that we get.
