What kind of products should I use for permed hair?

Asked by The_Inquisitor (3163points) December 19th, 2009

Now that my hair is permed, what kind of products should I use?

Different shampoo and conditioner? Some kind of curly mousse? Non frizz stuff? Leave in conditioners?

What kind of brands do you suggest?

Recommendations and suggestions kindly appreciated!

I would recommend using the salon quality products, like Nexas or Paul Mitchell. Your stylist would be able to tell you which would be best for your type of hair. I’ve made the mistake of using store bought products after getting my hair permed, dyed, etc. and they just totally fried my hair. Right now, a lot of salons are having specials on products for Christmas so now might be a good time to buy them.

Yeah, I would agree with @Shemarq that you should consult your stylist. It really depends on what kind of hair you had to start with, what type of hair you have, what kind of perm you have. If you did your perm yourself, if you can find a friend or someone who knows a lot about perms and hair talk to them. They can help you.
