Have an apple computer, cannot see the printer on the same network?

My laptop can see the printer, why not the Apple with Leopard.

Long story short is that Apple uses different networking protocols than a PC does. While Macs are capable of talking to PCs and PC peripherals, they must be explicitly told to do so; basically you have to turn the “translators” on manually.
