How do those gillette razors work?

Asked by Jay170590 (335points) December 27th, 2009 from iPhone

I mean those ones with that battery in them that makes it vibrate. Does it actually work? How?

I was afraid to try it at first because I though I’d get minute little cuts from the vibration but no nicks, no cuts and as far as I can tell, it works no better and no worse than my non vibrating Mach lll blades.

I have had a Mach 3 Turbo for quite a while and I love it. It gives a better shave with much less effort compared to my old non-powered Mach 3. One slow swipe and it takes an entire swatch down to baby-smooth bare skin. I can shave in half the time and I get better results. And no, I haven’t nicked myself once since I switched.

However, you do have to alter your technique a little. If you try moving it as quick as you would a regular razor, it won’t do nearly as good a job. Move about half as fast as you normally would and let the motor do the job for you.

The only problem I’ve had is that my wife borrows it to do her legs so it occasionally gets misplaced; I’ve found it in the shower more than once.
