What is the status of Fluther's chat rooms?

I didn’t even know there was a fluther one. :o

Fluther has chat rooms?

Yeah, I had no idea as well.

Apparently they do now! Before it was just a rented space on Campfire.
What an awesome thing!

I knew about the campfire ones, but seeing these ones was a surprise. Didn’t realize so many people didn’t know about either.

So… how do you get in?

They are still tweaking it, that’s why there hasn’t been an official announcement.

@Dog When I click it I see the 2 chatrooms but can’t enter them.

You should just be able to click on the name of the chatroom to enter it.

That is strange.

They are only a few days old and a bit buggy. A lot of the main problems were fixed yesterday. Unlike campfire they tie into our accounts here. If you are kicked from the room you get a 30 minute timeout.

They use textile for formatting just like we use here. For now there is no way to upload images or videos like you could at campfire. But you can link to them. I actually prefer this

Andrew said that campfire will be dead soon. He doesn’t plan on paying for it again. Good riddance.

And we have had the chatroom on campfire for about two years.

Great to have the new chatroom site. Can’t wait until the iPhone send feature bug is fixed though. It’s a bit difficult to use the regular site on the phone.

Btw, that wasn’t a complaint, just a comment. I appreciate we even having this site and having a mobile version is a bonus.

AC.. I just tested it on my iPod Touch and it worked fine.

Actually it’s messing up for me too.

I rebooted my phone and it still would let me post. Hmm. I don’t know why I’m the only one.

@XOIIO- I just saw your last post. At least I’m not alone. Wonder what’s different about @johnpowell‘s iPod that enables it to work for him. It won’t work on my wife’s iPhone either. I’ll have to check out my daughter’s iPod touch when I get home.

Just tried to post using my wife’s fluther account while on my daughter’s iPod Touch. Still no luck.
