So, there's this dance/club song I'm trying to find, and I only know one line...

Asked by lrk (757points) January 1st, 2010

And that line is “POW POW / POW POW POW // POW POW / POW POW POW // POW POW / POW POW POW POW,” or something like that.

It might be some random noise that sounds like “POW,” or it might just be “CHA” or “SHA” or “shock” or—I don’t know.

It was playing in a club a few nights ago, but I’m not sure how old it is. I want to say it’s at least from 2009.

Any ideas?

(Also, no, it’s not Boom Boom Pow.)

do you remember anything else about it?

@timothykinney sadly, neither of those :(

@elizabethmae I only heard it as I was passing outside a club last night, so… :/

if you have an iPhone, you should get Shazam for next time this happens :)

What else did you hear? Did you hear any ‘real’ instruments? Do you recognize the key it was in? Was it techno or more top40 dance sounding?

Was it someone saying ‘pow’ or was it a sound that sounded like ‘pow’?

@eeveegurl I love that app! And, sadly, don’t have an iPhone.

@gemiwing More Top 40. Other than that, I really don’t remember much at all about it :(.

Oh, the POW sound was being made by a male voice if it was a voice at all.

It wasn’t Shots?

@Allie…it was Shots! Thanks! :D

The part of interest is about the 55 second mark on @Allie ‘s link, but personally I don’t think it sounds like pow at all.

Mejor props to Allie for seeing through the haze!

I hope you find it. My husband looked for a song for years, and then finally one day we had walked into the music store at Downtown Disney to use the bathrooms and they happened to play it. He ran upstairs to the DJ to find out what it was.
