I bought these really expensive sheets but they attract EVERYTHING. How do I fix/prevent this?

Asked by SamIAm (8703points) January 2nd, 2010

These sheets are normal, not flannel or anything special… they’re from Crate & Barrel and were $120 for the set. They’re soft and comfy but they literally collect EVERYTHING… they always look dirty (probably doesn’t help that they’re off white but I’ve had white sheets that don’t look like this). What can I do to prevent this from happening? Using a lint brush on my entire bed daily is no long an option. Help!!?

Wash with fabric softener maybe?

Vacuum the floor better.

I wonder if they have some synthetic in them, pure cotton doesn’t usually attract lint. But as @Austinlad said fabric softener should help reduce static electricity which should stop the clinging.

use anti static drier sheets?

Use different sheets.

I don’t know if this will help, but you might could try to wash them over and over. Like towels, maybe the more they’re washed, the more they will shed all the excess lint. And use the fabric softener.

… they attract EVERYTHING.Lucky you!

Only use 100% cotton sheets, they leave other sheets for dead.
