When and how did you learn that there was no such thing as Santa Claus?

My youngest son just found out this past year that Santa Claus isnot real but rather his parents. His mother decided to tell him because he was being made fun of by other children at school because he really did still believe Santa Claus was real. I remember finding hidden gifts the night before Christmas when I was around 8 that my mom had stored up and even though I didn’t want to believe it, when I saw the same gifts under the tree the next morning, it was real for me. I had mixed feelings. I was both saddened yet relieved. I always wondered how Santa Claus did the things he did and always got me exactly what I wanted. When did you find out? How did you find out? How did it make you feel?
