Does anyone know the exact inclusions needed for a 501(c)(3)

Asked by Sonnerr (588points) January 9th, 2010

I’m trying to be legit with the IRS and I need to fill out a bunch of forms. Is there anyone who knows by experiance how to fill out the bylaws and mission statement?

What are some of the inclusions that need to be put into the bylaws and is there any updates that you know of?

The IRS requirements are here

I found this article on how to set up an exempt charitable organization.

When we set up a charity fund, the bank did most of the work, and we just administered the fund, but that was many years ago, when the people at the bank actually knew your name.

It depends on the requirements of your state. Here is an example for Florida.

You can google 501c3 requirements statename.

Usually, you can have an attorney participate as part of your board and that attorney can draft your bylaws. You can also use the bylaws of an existing group as an exemplar.
