Can i hook up my ps3 to my dell 1905FP monitor?

Asked by bigboss (990points) January 12th, 2010

i bought an HDMI to DVI cable, and i connected it to the DVI-D port on the back of the monitor and i get nothing. just a black screen. the pc is connected to the sub DVI port. im wondering if i need a cable for the ps3 that will connect to the sub DVI port or if i just need to adjust some settings so my current cable will work with the ps3 and monitor.

thanks

What was the PS3 connected to before you hooked it up to the monitor?

The DVI port on my monitor also doesnt seem to work with my Xbox 360, had to use VGA.

@bigboss VGA is the coord that has the blue end, which you hook Monitor – PC.

@jesus i will look into that. although i think im just going to invest in the intec g7700 screen that attatches too the ps3 itself. ( i wanted to know becuase i work overnight shifts as a security officer and do nothing all night besides sit a desk and read or watch dvds. so i might as well play sum ps3 games.)
