What have you done for love (that could be a movie)?

Asked by 6rant6 (13700points) January 12th, 2010

Okay. We know the stories of people who have killed for love, have left their families for love, have faced certain death, have given up everything they own, have waited patiently for a lover to return.

What have you done for love? Or alternatively, what has someone done for your love? I’m looking for big stuff here people.

Been myself and treated her like gold.

Big enough, I think.

My boyfriend and I met while he was on vacation in California. At the time, he lived in New York. We spent 4 days together before he had to go home. He came back to see me 2 weeks later, and 2 months after that he moved to California.

Last year, I moved 400 miles away to go to school. We broke up. He showed up here and said he made a mistake and he wanted to be with me. So he moved again.

And we lived happily ever after? Maybe? We’ll see.

I loved completely and fully. I chose to be unselfish and put her needs above my own. I allowed myself to be completely vulnerable to her. I gave her my heart and the power to break it. I waited for her, forsaking many others, because she was the one that I truly loved.

I tried to be as selfless as possible. When he was away on trips, I’d clean up his room and I bought him wall scrolls of his favorite video game and anime. For his birthday I surprised him with a dinner, chocolate cake and presents and gave him tickets for a trip to Italy and Germany. I filled his present bag with discount tickets of things he would like to do in the city nearby. I would buy him surprise gifts for no particular reason, just because I loved him. I gave myself completely, but in the end it was never enough.

I gave what I had and what I considered to be the most valued thing in life. Time. It all started in1962 and there are no regrets.

I’m seeing Jennifer Garner playing you. Matt Damon is the guy who sells soup at “That place that makes Sandwiches”. It’s a Harry Met Sally meets Meeting the Krumps.
