Anyone know how to make really scrumptuous black bean soup?

Asked by deni (23141points) January 22nd, 2010

Or would it be chili? I like it thicker, and hot. And I wanna make some.

I’m capable of looking up recipes but id rather take someones personal word :)

My mother-in-law makes amazing Frijoles Charros. Its dry black beans, lard, canned tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro, and onion. I can kind of estimate the measurements if you already have a feel for making black bean soup.

I make it by buying it from Panera Bread :) It’s very very good. Maybe they have a recipe in the interwebs somewhere.

Take a look at the recent question on Easy Recipes. There are both my chili recipe and someone else’s black bean soup on it.

@Facade I was going to say the same thing! They have the best black bean soup.

Add file powder, or mint flakes, or maybe various crushed nuts, such as almonds, walnuts, and cashews.
