Try to stay positive.
And try your hardest to do better.
Ask for help if you need it.

Does your teacher offer “extra help” or tutoring after school? You might try going and speaking to the teacher at these times and asking questions about what you don’t understand. Or pair up with a friend in the class and make study dates.

What don’t you like about the class? Is it grammar? Reading literature? What is going on in the class that you don’t much care for?

When I was a medical student, the subject I felt least comfortable with was renal physiology. The acid-base chemical equations were really complicated, and I just didn’t feel like I was getting it. When it came time to study for the boards, I overcompensated and spent tons of time studying this area. It turned out to be my best-scoring subject. :-)

You don’t have to like it, you just have to work at it anyway.

Learning in a class you find boring is difficult. I always try to find something to like about it, which I find helps my motivation. Sometimes you have to dig really, really deep though :)

You can’t find anything you like about it? If you really can’t, just remember if you can’t read and write and comprehend then you will not go very far in life, or on fluther for that matter.

Keep your head down in the books and your hand up in the air. That is, do the reading and participate in class—in spite of the fact that you don’t particularly like it.

I find it sad and interesting that you don’t like it. It’s language. We have to use language,
and if we think we can’t enjoy it, we’ll be intellectually, emotionally and socially crippled. I suspect you have a teacher whose style doesn’t fit yours. Remember that (if this is the case) the next teacher may make this subject matter sing. Ask around – see if other students in your school are having that experience. Then go sit in, and see what happens. Maybe you can transfer; maybe you can take that teacher’s class next time. Don’t let a mismatched personality ruin a whole body of knowledge.

Figure out why it is important to you to learn the material. Will it make you a better communicator? Will some guy in your class like you more if you do well? Do whatever it takes within reason to find the motivation. Writing and reading comprehension are important life skills. You won’t get very far in life if you can’t convey what you are thinking to others.

Try using punctuation because run on sentences make no sense especially when they have no commas or anything to let you know there is a break to indicate a change in context or a section of optional text in the sentence.

Two easy steps:
l. Identify the class you would like better
2. Follow the proceedure to ask for a transfer.
