Is it worth opening an ebay store?

Asked by chaostheory (201points) January 31st, 2010

I sell occasionally on ebay, and have a few boxes of odds and ends I want to list. I am just wondering if for small volumes of stuff whether is is worth paying the subscription fees for a store, ie will this increase my sales significantly? Also where do normal people like my get wholesale lists from to enable them to start selling more like a business?

no, it’s not. Just post em on there as an individual. the fees aren’t worth it unless you are a power seller and have a huge inventory

I heard that Ebay is going to eliminate stores in March. Thus I would not bother.

No, eBay is the filthy swap meet behind the carnival of the internet. Find more specialized sites to sell whatever it is you want to list. There are specialized trade/sell sites for most everything, and you’ll get a better price by selling it to a more nuanced market.

That’s great advice guys! Thanks. I had not realised ebay was eliminating stores, so very glad you alerted me to that, will save me a heap of time. Seems their fees are getting less attractive too. Thank you!
