Is PT(physical therapy)doing me more harm than good?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) February 2nd, 2010

In the past, i have had two neck surgeries. once again, i have injured my neck. i am going through a regiment of pt and i am wondering if i should stop it. its been four weeks and the pain down my left arm and fingers is the same. i dread pt day. i know the rest of that day will be filled with pain. should i continue or stop pt? have you had a similar situation, where pt appears to be doing you more harm, than good?

Talk to your doctor about it. Talk to the physical therapist about it.

have you seen a chiropractor? I have had very good luck with spinal and neck injuries using a chiropractor.

Since i have had two previous neck surgeries and a metal plate in my neck, chiropractors shy away from touching my neck. i have one bulging disc and three others that are touching the nerves, effecting my left arm. thanks for the answer marinelife.

@john65pennington That sounds very hard, very painful. I am sorry that you are going through that.
