What are some really great places to get dessert in/around the Chicago loop?

Tru they offer a few late-night reservations for their dessert tasting menu.

I think Hot Chocolate is worth traveling outside the loop for.

I agree—I was heading here specifically to mention Hot Chocolate. If you go for dinner as well, I highly recommend the burger and highly the opposite of recommend the chicken or the vegetable tart. But really—their desserts are great.

Quite a bit outside the loop, you can go to Hoosier Mama cafe for some seriously good pie or the Angel Food bakery just off the brown line for a variety of amazing sweets.
