What's the best and cheapest place to buy photos online?

Asked by jctennis123 (427points) February 13th, 2010

I’m making a dream board and I want to buy cool pictures for it. It seems like all the picture websites I’ve seen though have complicated pricing structures. Have you bought pictures off of the internet before and where did you buy pictures? What are your recommendations? (I am looking to buy small pictures 6×8 download is fine then I can print them up at Wal-Mart)

I really like to use Stockxpert.com, they have good photos, and the price is very resonable, I find.

I take alot of my own but the answers above are good places to start.I have purchased some through galleries and art fairs.I do know quite a few photographers and we trade artwork which is really cool to do.I think that is my favorite way to get photos as these are my friends and I like to see their interpretation of things in their world. It’s a way of keeping them close to your heart :)

It’s not always true that you get what you pay for, but there isn’t a while lot out there for free that’s worth the trouble of searching and downloading. The least expensive I know of is Clipart.com

An alternative with far better images owned by the same people is iStock. @Marva StockExpert.com has apparently been bought out by iStockPhoto.com.

Happy shopping.
